Math: We will start our unit study on money. This week we will learn about the penny.

Art:  Paper plate peacock and rangoli art work.

Science: We will start our unit on "sea life."

Writing: Our journal writing topic will be on Kansas.

Math: We will learn about time.

Art: Coffee filter sunflowers and Indian Rangoli art project.

Geography: We will finish our unit on Asia. We will learn about India. We will also have discussions on how the pioneers used to live.

Food Prep: Juicing an orange.

Special event: Thursday, Jan 28: Classroom presentation on India by Dr. Khicha, Amir's mom.
Friday, Jan 29: EC Pioneer day from 8:30- 11 AM.

Math: The class is working on measurement and we will start our unit on time. The children are also working with the Montessori Math materials.

Art: Recreate Vincent Van Gogh's ,"Sunflowers".

Geography: We will start our unit on Asia. We will learn about the animals of Asia and focus on China and Japan this week.

Math: The class will be introduced to the concept of measurement. The children are also working with the Montessori Math materials.

Art: Winter art projects and art projects related to Kansas.

Geography: We are learning about our state Kansas, the state symbols and the pioneers.

Social Studies: Discussion on Dr.Martin Luther King and his dream.

Famous Artist:  Vincent Van Gogh and his famous painting, "The Sunflowers."

Special Event: Monday, Jan 11: Kinder-concert at Lower School from Wichita Symphony Orchestra.
Tuesday, Jan 12: The Next Big Step at Lower School- 6:30 pm
Thursday, Jan 14: EC Open House from 5-7 PM.
