Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be j and x. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are listening to the initial, medial and ending sounds in a word, learning to identify the accent in a syllable and listening to the j sound in a word.

Journal Writing: We will start journal entries this week. Our topics will be me and things that I like to do,

Math: We will continue our unit on formation of complex numbers and also start our unit on money.

Foreign Language: Introductory French phrases.

Geography: Discussion on Chinese New Year.

Science:  Sea Life

Art: Draw a "Under the sea" picture with crayons and do a water color wash.

Important dates: No School: Feb 2nd & 3rd: Parent Teacher Conferences.

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be v and j. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are identifying the ending sound in a word and hearing the v sound in a word.

Math: We will work on formation of complex numbers.

Foreign Language: Introductory French phrases.

Geography: We will conclude our unit on Kansas with special emphasis on the Pioneers.

Science: We will start our unit on Sea Life.

Artist: Vincent Van Gogh

Art:  Kansas coffee filter sunflowers. We will also recreate "Van Gogh's Sunflowers".

Special event: Pioneer Day on Friday, January 27 from 8:30-11 AM.

Math: We will continue our unit on measurement.

Geography: Kansas

Art: Asia and winter art projects.
