Working Together: Week of September 12-16

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be h and t. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are working on rhyming words, compound words and listening to sounds in a word.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting without tears curriculum.

Math:We are going to review the basic shapes: circle, square, triangle and rectangle.

Geography:  We are continuing with our study of the Solar system. This week, we are learning about space, our moon and astronauts.

Science: We will learn about magnets.

Art: Rubbing shapes with crayons, moon printing and art work related to Dad's day.

Food Prep: Muffin peeling.

Special event: Dad's Day on Friday, September 16 from 1:00- 2:30 PM.

Working Together: Week of September 6-9

Working Together: Week of September 6-9

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be o and g. Out of 26 letters of the alphabet, there are 5 vowels and the rest are consonants. We are also learning that a sentence is made up of words and learning the concept of rhyming words.

Handwriting: We have started our handwriting without tears curriculum. We are also going to start practicing writing our first names.writing curriculum.

Math: Introduce teen numbers, and introduce the concept of tens.

Geography:  Our unit study this week is on the Solar System. We will discuss about the outer planets: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. We will discuss about Asteroids, Meteors and Constellations. Discuss about island and lakes.

Science: Discuss about vertebrates and invertebrates.

Art: Color mixing activity with the primary colors. Sponge Painting the planets, and create your own Constellation patterns with star stickers.
