Working Together: Week of November 25-26



Working Together: Week of November 25-26

Language:  The letter sounds of the week will be b and u. Please review the word lists your child is bringing home with their daily phonic sheets.

Math:  The children will be working with the Montessori Math materials. 

Geography: We will conclude our unit study on the Native Americans, Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. We will be introduced to the model of a Peninsula/ Gulf.

Thanksgiving Break: Wednesday Nov 27- Sunday December 1. ( No school)

Frosting Maple Leaf Sugar Cookies!

Week of November 11-15



Working Together: Week of November 11-15


Language:  The letter sounds of the week will be r and k. Please review the word lists your child is bringing home with their daily phonic sheets.

Math:  The children will be working with the Montessori Math materials. They will also be working on subtraction with beads.

Art:  Making a paper Tepee and Totem pole.

Science: Discussion on parts of a tree and leaf.

Geography:  Discussion on the Pilgrims journey to the Americas and the story of the first Thanksgiving.

Food Prep: Pancakes with Maple Syrup.

Cooking Project:  Mrs. Marquardt, Claire's mom will make quesadillas with the class as part of our Mexico study. Thank you Mrs. Marquardt.

Picture Retakes on Tuesday, November 12.

Special thanks to Luke's mom, Mrs. Richardson for baking Maple leaf cookies for the class last week. We enjoyed frosting them.

Working Together: Week of November 4-8

Language:  The letter sounds of the week will be f and r. Please review the word lists your child is bringing home with their daily phonic sheets. Recite few favorite Mother Goose Rhymes together.

Math:  The children will continue to work with the Montessori Math materials.

Art:  Painting a fall tree.

Science: Discussion on Migration  & Hibernation of animals, birds, insects etc.

Geography: We will travel to two countries from North America: Canada & Mexico. 

Food Prep: Apple Slicing & Pancakes with Maple Syrup.
