Presentation on Space travel!

Language: . Our letter sounds for the week will be t. As apart of our phonics lessons, we are learning to make words with the l. o. g and h sounds, listening to beginning sounds and blending three sounds to make a short vowel word.

Math: As part of our math curriculum, we will discuss about dimensions.

Writing: We are practicing writing our numbers. This week we are learning to write the letter t.

Geography:. The children will learn how we transition from the continent globe to the continent puzzle map and then they will be introduced to the continent puzzle map. The class will also be introduced to the model of a strait and a isthmus.

Science: We will discuss about the properties of air. We will learn about apples. We will be tasting different types of apples.

Famous Artist: We will learn about the life and works of Paul Cezanne.

Food Preparation: Muffin Peeling and Grape Plucking activity.

Art:  Recreation of Paul Cezanne's, "Still Life with Apples."

Cooking: Johnny Appleseed Cake.

Special event: Wichita author, Andrea Cassell is coming on Friday morning, September 29th. Her children's book is called, Kibby The Space Dog.  This heartwarming story is about a dog named Kibby looking different.  Kibby's story brings to life the way dogs experience the"cone of shame" and teaches kindness and tolerance to our young children. She will bring her dog, Kirby.

Our Dads day was awesome. Thank you Dads/ Moms for coming to our Dads day event and enjoying this special time with your child. It was a lot of fun

Math: As part of our math curriculum, the class will be introduced to the short chains.

Writing: We are practicing writing our numbers. This week we are learning to write the letter h.

Geography: We will conclude our unit of solar system with a look into space. We will talk about the astronauts, moon landing and how do they travel to space and return to earth. We will be introduced to the model of a cape and bay.

Science: We will learn about the three forms of water: Solid, liquid and gas and observe some experiments related to that. We will learn to do the sink and float activity. We will also learn about magnets. We will also discuss about fall.

Famous Artist: We will learn about the life and works of Vincent Van Gogh.

Practical life: Pouring, spooning and tonging activity.

Food Preparation: Muffin Peeling and Grape Plucking activity.

Art:  Moon Printing.

Special event: In house presentation on Tuesday by Mr. Ghosh on Space.

Language: . Our letter sounds for the week will be G. We will also start Words Their Way weekly sorting.

Math: As part of our math curriculum, the class will be introduced to the tens board.

Writing: We are practicing writing our numbers. This week we are learning to write the letter g.

Geography: This week we will learn about the layers of the earth, the three elements of earth, land air and water, what is a volcano, earth's magnetism and Earth's moon. We will also be introduced to models of a lake/ island, gulf/ peninsula.

Science: We will learn about living/ non-living things, how to use a magnifying class, vertebrates/ invertebrates

Geomtery:  We will learn about the Geometric Solids.

Art: Art projects related to the solar system, draw your dad.

Special event: EC Dad's day on Friday, September 15.

Words Their Way Video for Parents!

Dear Parents,

Please take the time to view this Words Their Way video. This video will give you an idea about the Words Their Way curriculum. In Kindergarten, our children will sort pictures rather than words. Our class will start their Words Their Way sorting according to their skill levels from Monday.

Geography: We are continuing our unit on the Solar System. This week we are discussing about the inner planets, Constellations, Asteroids and Meteors and the Milky Way Galaxy.

Geometry: We are learning about the Geometric solids, rectangle and hexagon.

Sensorial: We will be learning about the gradation of colors.

Art: Sponge painting the planets.
