Working Together: Week of November 28- December 2

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be u and z. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are working on identifying the sounds in a word, the no of syllables in a name, listening to the u sound in a word and identifying the vowel sounds in a word.

Math:We will learn the concept of what number sequencing: after, before and in the middle.

Science: We will learn about hibernation in nature.

Geography: We will start our unit on Antarctica and the Arctic.

Famous Artist: Our artist for this month will Be Dale Chihuly.

Art:  Color Mixing art project, recreating Chihuly sculptures.

Food Prep: Pancakes with Maple Syrup.

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be f  and r.As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are working on separating compound words, syllables, hearing the r sound in a word.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting without tears curriculum.

Math:We will learn about place value with teens and tens.

Social Studies: Why is Thanksgiving such an important holiday.

Geography: We will learn about the life of the Native Americans and how they helped the pilgrims to settle down.

Art project: Totem poles and Tepees.
