Working Together: Week of September 28- October 2

Language: This week, our letter sounds will be t and p. We are discussing about double letter blends.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting books and proper formation of letters and numbers.

Math: The children are being introduced to the new Montessori math materials.
We are doing Math activities related to apples.

Art: Apple printing and learning to recreate Van Gogh's "Starry Night" painting.

Geography:We will be introduced to the concept of maps and our continent puzzle map.

Science:  We will conclude our unit on apples. We are also tasting the different apples.

Cooking: We will bake the Johnny Appleseed Cake.

Food Prep: Apple cutting

Famous Artist: We will introduced to Paul Cezanne and his style of Still Life painting.

Special event: All school picnic at 12 noon.

Working Together: Week of September 21-25

Language: This week, our letter sounds will be h and t. We are also discussing about rhyming words and learning the color words.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting books and proper formation of letters and numbers.

Math: The children are being introduced to the new Montessori math materials. We are learning about Geometric shapes.

Art: Moon printing and volcano art work.

Geography: We will conclude our unit of the solar system. We will be introduced to a cape/ bay, gulf/peninsula.
Science:  Learn about air. We will also talk about fall and at the end of the week start our unit on apples.

Language: This week, our letter sounds will be g and h. We are also discussing about rhyming words and compound words.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting books and proper formation of letters and numbers.

Math: The children are being introduced to the new Montessori math materials. We are learning about Geometric shapes.

Art: Drawing our Dads and creating our own constellation patterns.

Artist: We will be introduced to Vincent Van Gogh' and his famous Starry Night painting.

Geography: We are continuing  our unit on the Solar System. We will learn about constellations,  astronauts and the moon. We will also learn that about the three elements of earth: land, air and water.

Science:  Learn about magnets and volcanoes. We will observe few water experiments.

Special Event: Dad's day on Friday, September 18 from 1-3 PM.

Language: This week, our letter sounds will be o and g. We are also discussing about rhyming words and are being introduced to the concept of sentences.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting books.

Math: The children are being introduced to the new Montessori math materials. We are also reviewing the one to one correspondence with numbers and quantity.

Art:"Painting the sun and sponge painting the planets.

Geography: We are continuing  our unit on the Solar System. We are learning to work with models of a lake, island, peninsula and gulf.

Science: Learn about things that are living/ non-living and vertebrates / invertebrates.

Language: This week, we will start our daily Phonics lessons. Our letter sounds will be l and o.

Handwriting: We have also started our handwriting curriculum.

Math: The children are being introduced to the new Montessori math materials.

Social Studies: Getting to me.

Art:" I am Special", art work.

Geography: We will start  our unit on the Solar System.

Important dates: Thursday, Sept 3rd: Parent Night from 6:30-7:30 PM.
Monday, September 7: No school- Labor Day
