Working Together: Week of October 24-28

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be s. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are working on listening to the sounds  in a CVC word, consonant blends and ending sounds.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting without tears curriculum.

Math:We will continue our unit on addition.

Science: We will learn about bats and learn the names of different kinds of leaves.

Geography: We will start our unit on the continent of North America. We will learn about the animals of North America. We will also learn about Canada and Mexico.

Art: Fall art work

Special event: Friday, October 28: Mother Goose Parade and classroom Fall Party.

Our Pumpkin Predictions!

We each predicted how many seeds does our class room have. We also predicted whether the pumpkin will float and sink. When we counted the total no of seeds in our pumpkin the number was 450.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting without tears curriculum.

Math:We will be learn about addition.

Social Studies: We will learn about Firefighters.

Science: We will learn about spiders and finish our pumpkin unit.

Art:  Pumpkins, Spiders and Recreate the Starry Night Painting.

Special event: Firefighter visit on Thursday, October 20.

Language:  Our letter sounds for this week will be n and m. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are working on listening to the sounds  in a CVC word, the number of syllables in a word and how many sounds are in a word. We will learn about positions.

Handwriting: We are working on our handwriting without tears curriculum.

Math:We will be learn about symmetry.

Geography:  We will discuss about Christopher Columbus.

Science: We will learn about pumpkins.

Art:  Columbus Day art work and draw a picture about your visit to the pumpkin patch.

Artist:  Introduce artist Vincent Van Gogh and his Starry Night Painting.

Birthday:Happy 6th birthday, Lilli.

Special event: KG Field trip to the Pumpkin Patch on Thursday, October 13.

Our Nature Walk!

We had so much fun during our nature walk. We had to find things you can find in nature like a twig, a squirrel, a pine cone, a bird, a mushroom, leaves, flowers and a rock.
