Working Together: Week of January 8-12

Language: . Our letter sound for the week will be c. As apart of our daily phonics lessons, we are learning to listen to whether two words are the same or different, learning to alphabetize letters, identifying rhyming words and learning to listen to the vowel sound in a word.

Math: As part of our math curriculum, we will be introduced to the clock. As a class, we are learning to count by 2's, 5's and 10's.

Geography: This week we will learn about the continent of Asia. We will learn about its animals and will focus on three of its countries: India, China and Japan.

Social Studies: At the end of the week, we will discuss about Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr

Writing: This week we will learn to write the letter c.

Art: Art projects related to Asia. Also, the class will recreate the American artist, Dale Chihuly's style glass creations with plastic plates.

Important Dates: Thursday, January 11: The Next Big Step: The Kg families and students visit our Lower School 1st Grade from 6:30-7:30 PM.
Thursday, January 11: EC Open House from 5-7 PM.
