Working Together: Week of  March 12-16

Language: . We will be introduced to the long vowel sounds and how these sounds are coded. As part of our daily phonics lessons, we are learning to separate words in compound words, we are learning to manipulate sounds in words, to identify the initial, medial and final sounds in words and to and how to add a long vowel sound to  part of a word at the end and make a whole word.

Literature: Discussion on "The Tale of Johnny Town Mouse."

Math:  We will be introduced to fractions and continue our unit on greater than and less than number concepts.

Geography: We will conclude our study of Africa through our discussions about Pyramids and mummies. We will be introduced to the continent of Egypt, its animals and discuss about Ireland and St. Patrick's day.

Journal Writing: Ancient Egypt and St.Patrick's day.

Art: Art projects related to Africa.

Famous Artist: George Seurat from France and his style of Pointillism.

Food Prep: St.Patrick's day cupcake frosting.

Monday, March 12: Read and Romp: 12:30 pm.
Wednesday, March 14: All classes are invited to watch Aladin performed by Lower School.

Spring break from Monday, March 19- Friday, March 23.( No school)
